  The Model 5900 Phone Adapter for Skype allows customers to use the phones they have now to make and receive Skype calls. A normal corded or cordless phone is plugged into the adapter and the adapter is plugged into a USB port. At the user's option, the adapter can also be plugged into a conventional phone outlet, which allows: The attached phones to be used for both Skype and conventional call; Bridging between Skype and the conventional phone network; Three-way conferencing with the local phone, a Skype connection, and a conventional phone connection. Bridging allows remote cell phones and conventional phones to call into the adapter and then make a Skype call, and also allows Skype calls to be forwarded to a remote phone. The Model 5900 also provide Interactive Voice Response for voice mail access and system control and consolidated PSTN/Skype voice mail storage on a local PC.

If you have Skype, you know that it runs on your PC to make phone
calls easier and less expensive. If you're using a headset with
Skype, you probably wish you could use normal phones. Now you can!
The Zoom Phone Adapter for Skype lets you use your favorite phone(s)
with Skype. You can plug a normal phone into the adapter, and then
make or receive calls using that phone. You can even plug in a
cordless base station for 1, 2, 4, or even more cordless phones,
and then make or receive calls using any of those phones!
The Zoom Phone Adapter is easy to install and use, but it's very
powerful, especially if you choose to plug the adapter into normal
phone service. Powerful bridging functions allow Skype calls to be
forwarded to cell/mobile phones and other conventional phone
numbers. This lets you use a mobile phone ("cell phone") to make
calls using Skype and save lots of money, or to receive Skype
calls, making you easier to reach. Remote phones can also dial into
the adapter to make outbound Skype calls.
Security on bridged calls is provided using Touchtone password
protection.
Voice mail for both Skype and conventional calls is provided by the
Model 5900, with storage and management of the voice messages on
the PC. The voice mail interface and system administration prompts
are provided in fourteen languages with automatic installation
based on the language used for the operating system.
The Model 5900 is USB port powered to reduce power adapter clutter.
The compact size allows convenient placement in any setting.
